ASSISTANT HEAD OF PRIMARY
KingsWay School is a Christian community of learning that nurtures young people towards their full potential as servant leaders in the Kingdom of God. We are located in Orewa on the beautiful Hibiscus Coast, with a Junior Campus which overlooks the estuary and surrounding area.
KingsWay is a high achieving, growing, state integrated Christian school catering for Year 1-13 students, with a current Primary School roll of 620 and a total roll of 1720 students.
We have a rare and exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, experienced educational leader who is passionate about combining their strong personal Christian faith with educational leadership in our Primary School. Due to projected roll growth, we are hiring an additional Assistant Head of Primary. We seek a leader with a proven track record of providing supportive educational excellence to continue our ongoing success.
An important condition of employment is to uphold and support our Special Christian Character, including how this translates to supporting and growing our students’ faith. You will enjoy contributing and promoting a biblical worldview through your teaching and you will protect and enhance our Christian character. This role has a 0.6 teaching component with 0.4 management release.
You will need to demonstrate:
A thorough understanding of the developmental and academic needs of primary aged students (particularly years 3-6)
The ability to build strong personal, community, and team relationships around you through collaborative leadership and exceptional communication
A sound understanding of the New Zealand curriculum, including curriculum development
Evidence of leading pedagogical change to enhance educational outcomes for Year 1- 6 students
The ability to inspire and support Primary School teachers to grow and develop professionally
A commitment to upholding and modelling biculturalism
Efficient organisational skills
Competence in working across a range of IT platforms
You will be supported by dedicated Christian leaders and teachers, and an experienced executive and senior management leadership team.
