Due to an internal promotion an exciting opportunity has opened up to join our team as an Assistant Head of Senior School starting 28 January 2025.
Located on the beautiful Hibiscus Coast of Auckland, KingsWay is a high achieving, growing, state integrated Christian school catering for Year 1-13 students, with a current roll of 1823 students. Our staff are supportive and collaborative, and our work is inspired by love/aroha, heartened by faith/whakapono in Jesus Christ, and motivated by gospel hope/tūmanako.
ABOUT THE JOB
The Senior School is looking for an enthusiastic individual who is passionate about combining their strong personal Christian faith with educational leadership to join their leadership team as an Assistant Head of School. We seek a leader with a proven track record of providing supportive educational excellence to continue our ongoing success. This role has a 0.6 teaching component with 0.4 management release and carries 4 SU and 1 MMA.
The successful applicant will have:
A thorough understanding of the developmental and academic needs of Senior School students
The ability to build strong personal, community, and team relationships around you through collaborative leadership and exceptional communication
A sound understanding of NCEA, including curriculum development
Evidence of leading pedagogical change to enhance educational outcomes for Year 11-13 students
The ability to inspire and support Senior School teachers to grow and develop professionally
A commitment to upholding and modelling biculturalism
Efficient organisational skills
Competence in working across a range of IT platforms
An important condition of employment is to uphold and support our Special Christian Character, including how this translates to supporting and growing our students’ faith. You will enjoy contributing and promoting a biblically informed, Christ-centred worldview through your teaching and will protect and enhance our Christian character. You will also possess a willingness and ability to take part in religious instruction appropriate to the School to uphold the Special Character.
