CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
The Association of Integrated Schools Aotearoa NZ serves 87 non-Catholic State Integrated Schools with approximately 27,500 students across New Zealand and aims to advocate for, inform and support schools with their special character. The CEO plays a key role in the Association. As CEO, you will engage with a wide variety of stakeholders (Principals, Proprietors, Business Managers, Board Chairs, and the like) and foster key relationships with APIS (Association of Proprietors of Integrated Schools) and the Ministry of Education. The ability to build and maintain relationships is an essential aspect of this role. As the CEO is responsible for providing guidance to stakeholders about the integrated sector, previous experience in the state-integrated sector is an advantage to applicants.
This is a three-day-per-week position, and we would prefer this position to be on a contract basis initially for a two-year period (renewable). The position would commence in January 2025.
As CEO your key tasks are set out in the Strategic Plan and are also as follows (but not limited to):
General administration
Executive meetings
APIS meetings
AGM
Handbook updates
Website Quality Assurance
Oversee Financial Administration including sponsorship, funding applications and reporting
Membership Database oversight
Responsibility for AIS conferences – One or two per year
Proprietor Professional Learning Groups including new initiatives to support single school Proprietors who are less engaged with AIS NZ
New Principal Professional Learning Groups
Generic and bespoke professional learning groups for new Boards/Presiding Members and Business Managers
APIS relationship – Building and strengthening relationship with Association of Proprietors of Integrated Schools and working on projects of mutual interest
Endorsed Advisors – promote to members. Provide supervision and training
Operate helpdesk
Maintain and grow sponsorship relationships at a strategic level
Oversee improvement projects such as enhancing online learning resources/special character evaluation resource/promote engagement with such
Otherwise deliver the AIS NZ Strategic Plan
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
APIS Relationship
Ensure AIS NZ input into APIS strategic plan
Foster working relationship with APIS CEO
Participate wherever possible alongside APIS in sector leadership forums (eg Ministers, MoE, NZSTA, Teaching Council etc)
Ensure strong engagement both ways with the major special character groupings within AIS NZ
Continue to engage with the small number of non Catholic integrated schools who are not yet members of AIS NZ to encourage them into membership.
Manage within budget delegations
Source new streams on income (sponsors etc)
Provide data on membership engagement with professional learning opportunities including feedback on satisfaction levels.
As above for the helpdesk function of the Association.
Optimize conference attendance. Provide data on satisfaction levels. Ensure conference meets budget expectations.
